E36 BMW 325I Overheating after thermostat changed?

I changed the thermostat on my 1996 e36 325I yesterday.I noticed that it is overheating when I drove it today.I tired bleeding it and now the heater is also not working.I made sure that the thermostat was fitted with the arrow/dot in my case facing up. There is no leaks.Tried running the engine with the heater on and bleeding but there is only steam coming out from the bleeding screw.I am hoping it is just an air lock.Any suggestions guys?

I think in my experience that changing thermostat does not affect heat or overheating ur engine, German cars always manage to have a little air trapped in there radiator and cooling system, try removing the air in the radiator then u will se the difference, it easy, let ur car cool down and open the cover of ur water container (i think u cannot open the radiator) and let the pipe under that container lose and fill it up with water it's gonna leak be carefull, do that for about 2 minutes and then tighten the pipe u losen and close the containers cover and here u go

wish it helps

You dont bleed any car when it's running. Take the cap off, fill it with coolant, take bleeder out, keep bleeder out until you have one minute of steady flow, put bleeder back in and re top off.
