Change Thermostat on a 1995 Audi A90 Quattro V6 - need location on vehicle and easiest way to change.?

Orange engine light comes on after driving about 15 to 20 minutes in cold weather. Didn't have problem in summer time --- problem started last winter and returned this winter. Have had codes reset and sensor changed but light still comes on. If I shut the car off and turn it back on, the code resets itself and the light goes off. I get some warm air but not enough for the heat gage to move...even after considerable driving distances. I believe that it is the Thermostat that is causing this problem, but unlike domestic cars which are easily located and changed, I don't know if this is the problem for sure and don't know where to locate the thermostat. Any help would be appreciated...Thanks.

most every car made follow top radiator hose back to motor remove hose remove two bolts lift housing

scrape off old gasket install new thermostat and gasket tighten it all back up crank motor fill with coolant your done and nope thermostat controls how the motor heats and cools and if its bad car either over heats in minutes or you have no heat at all and if you get a light it might be but it wouldnt last a year being bad just minutes or a day.. and your case more of a sensor problem not thermostat
